Top 2000 Words
List of Top 2000 fastest growing words in Corpus, the quoted frequencies are normalised per million words.
The calculation for the fastest is done in the following steps
For each word add the frequency for 2000s and 2010s = F1
For each word add the frequency for 2010s and 2020s = F2
Calculate the Logarithm of F1 and F2 = L1 and L2
Minus L1 from L2 = R (This is something like the change in relative frequency between the early part of the timescale and the later part of the timescale)
Sort the words by their R value (descending) - this seems to give a good measure
Clicking on the word takes you to the isogloss / ngram view which gives an indication of where the word is used and how its use has changed year by year
Run again hiding proper nouns
